Karl Tipp
Saxophonist ● Composer ● Arranger
Let me brew a medicine just for you.
A earful of sedative,
to make your dreams come true…
and on they grew,
right past the Monday blue;
slightly out of tune.
Music Outputs
I’m an Estonian saxophonist working across classical music, jazz, improvisation and electronic music. Alongside performing, I compose music, particularly for choirs and chamber ensembles, and create arrangements for different musical settings.
My work takes me from the concert stage to collaborative projects that bring together different musical traditions, instruments and approaches. I’m interested in both the detail of written music and the freedom of improvisation.
For concerts, collaborations, composition commissions or arrangements, feel free to get in touch.
Involved in several musical projects, each with its own sound and approach:
– Vakkka! – A new-age duo influenced by thrilling medieval melodies fused with alternative beats and improvisation.
– tHerbalist – is a project exploring boundaries in nordic-jazz and progressive rock.
– Duo Tipp-Valiulina – brings together saxophonist Karl Tipp and pianist Lea Valiulina. Their repertoire spans classical and contemporary music.
